What we do

Holistic life therapy

SALT Sessions (Surrender and Life Transforms) are holistic wellbeing systems that combine a toolkit of mindful yoga, healing meditation, conscious breath work, food by nature, massage + herbs. We work by treating the whole person, not just the symptom and prescribe transforming rituals that not only improve the way we eat and sleep but the way we balance our lifestyle and converse with the people within it.

Working with our breath and bodies movement, the nervous system can let go of stress and awaken positive emotions that reconnect us with our true nature.

Yoga beyond the surface

Each of us has a unique pattern of physical, mental and emotional energy that corresponds with natures elements. It is how we balance them in yoga that creates clarity and space for us, both, on and off our mat. Each set of movements is designed to evoke the healing power of one element. When practised regularly, yoga can literally transform your life - awakening your true nature; it can discourage disease, provide greater mental clarity, emotional balance, and overall wellness.

Through a mindful practise we can learn to move proactively rather than reactively. This means moving with conscious intention and listening to our bodies - honouring its limitations, without judgement or comparison.

In your wellbeing consultation, you will experience how yoga, healing meditation and conscious breath work can improve your well-being. We focus on what you would most like to gain from your sessions, be it improve your energy, letting go of unwanted emotions, enhance focus and concentration or learn a new way of how to feel deeply relaxed. Each session is held in the quiet and relaxing safe space of your own front room.

At the end of each appointment we allow time for the body, breath and mind to fully process and integrate the the session. After the session you will have time to discuss your experience and we will suggest practical ways you in which you can incorporate daily rituals into your life.

When we think higher, we feel deeper and life has meaning.

Healing meditation

Meditation is a habitual process of training your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts. Meditation is not a scary eastern practise that only floating cross-legged yogis can access. It is about acceptance of what is and surrendering to the unknown.

We humans have anywhere between 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day and as many as 98 percent of them are studied to be exactly the same as we had the day before. The most alarming figure is that  80 percent of our thoughts are negative. It is humanly impossible to not think but meditation is about training the brain to focus on simply being, acknowledge each thought that we have without judgement and letting it go like a passing cloud.

We guide you through meditation in a safe and relaxing environment where we work on increasing awareness of yourself and your surroundings. When we practise meditation daily we experience life changing benefits.

Food by nature

Natural food is considered as close to nature as possible. When we eat with conscious intention we feel more grounded and balanced in our everyday lives.

We focus on encouraging curiosity around the things we choose to put into our bodies and introduce an accessible approach to eating food prepared at home that is simple, tasty and satisfying.

We create equanimity in the body by adding more whole foods to our plate that correspond with our body’s constitution. We explore why food by nature |instead of processed foods| can benefit our whole wellbeing from the inside out.

Ayurveda therapy

Ayurveda, literally translated from Sanskrit as the ‘science of life’, is a popular Indian healing system practised all over the world. Older than Buddhism, it is a time tested treatment that embraces the whole person taking into account their constitution and exterior influences of modern day living. The all-embracing prescription for how to live our lives and its message is as relevant today as it was when first shared.

Doshas

At Ayurveda’s heart is the concept that our bodies are a microcosm of the universe with three *doshas at work: Vata (air), Pitta (fire) and Kapha (earth). Each of us has a unique pattern of physical, mental and emotional energy that corresponds with these doshas and although one dosha is generally dominant, we possess all doshas to varying degrees.

Massage

Traditional Ayurvedic massage is shaped by age-old wisdom, using medicated herbal oils specifically based on the body’s dosha. The techniques used are designed to loosen the excess doshas, directing them towards of the organs of elimination. It also enhances circulation, increases flexibility and relieves pain and stiffness.

We use natural herbalised oils, powders (churna) and herbal compresses (bolus) to improve blood circulation and warm up the tissues intensifying the benefits of the massage which offers a cleansing and re-energising treatment.
